New England Felting Supply – 2012 – 2013 Manager

Involved in all aspects of running the company as well as mentoring the youngest employee. Mentoring included addressing code of conduct with fellow employees and customers, sales training, attendance responsibilities and clothing choices for the work place.

CherScapes Downtown Fiber Art Studio, Greenfield, MA – 2009-2012 - Owner

Fiber art studio dedicated to offering classes on all aspects of fiber art, composition, design and mixed media collage to children, teens and adults. Duties included teaching, marketing, press release writing, ad design and project coordinator, instructor and class scheduling as well as general office management.

CherScapes Wearable Art, Greenfield, MA – 2009 - 2012

Owner of clothing design label that produces one-of-a-kind handmade, women’s wearable art. Duties include fabric design, dyeing, sample stitching, customer relations, recruit and manage wholesale accounts, merchandising, trade show booth design, sales, marketing and general office duties.

Invited Speaker and Workshop Facilitator – Present

Travel to independent art programs and venues conducting workshops on surface design techniques on fabric, dyeing fabric, composition and design as they relate to clothing, cloth and wall hung fine fiber art, as well as 2D collage. Lecture on the artistic and creative process.

Wrote artist profile for bi-monthly, project-based magazine geared towards the beginner hand stitcher. Duties include researching artists, conducting interviews and writing a 500-word profile as well as providing them with a hand-stitched project.

Storey Publishing – Fabric Surface Design - Published March 2013

Contracted author for a 350-page book covering over 60 surface design techniques. Chosen by Jennifer Forker of the Associated Press as one of the top 15 craft books of 2013 under the category “Inspiration.”

Linden Hill School – 2007 - 2009

Wrote and taught art curriculum for boys ranging in age from 9-16 years old with language based learning disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD, aspergers syndrome and others.

Hilltop Montessori Middle School, Brattleboro, VT – 2007

Project volunteer for the idea and execution of a “Freedom Quilt” based on the student’s experiences studying the civil rights movement and their travels to Alabama.
